| "Esbat" most likely derives from a French word meaning "to frolic." In Wicca, the Esbats usually occur on the Full Moon, and are a time for both individuals and covens to worship the Goddess (represented by, but not believed to be, the moon), cast spells, and spend time contemplating their religion.
